1st canidate for idiot of the year, 2006.

Matt Leinart, the #10 pick in this years NFL draft. Here is a guy that had the world by the balls, and would have 98.9% chance of being last years #1 overall draft pick. Instead this idiot decides to stay one more year, loses the national championship, shows pro scouts the holes in his game and then slides down to #10. That in and of itself seems innocent enough, (he screwed himself) but this asshat decides to holdout of training camp, for more MONEY. Now, before anyone starts up with Arizona jokes etc., mind you, it's the fan that will suffer. Matt, get off your friggin high horse, get your slotted money and PLAY football, ya typical left coast loser.

Thank god, Dusty will stay till the end...

...of the season. At least now I know when to schedule the firing or should I say not re-upping his contract party. Look for Brenly to be announced as the skipper sometime just before the winter meetings. Looking to next season, Milwaukee will be tough. Watch for that team to make a major splash in the NLC in 2007. Anyways, radio reports were positive about Grossman and Manning during their respective practices. A note to Thomas Jones, it had better be a tweak of the hammy otherwise you and Rosenhaus can linger in hell.

Happy training camp eve.

Well, the flubbies are on a two game tear.... I have switched gears about two weeks ago and started getting prepared for my next two obsessions: Da Bears and the team in Ann Arbor. I see the Monsters going 12-4 and playing Dallas in the NFC title game. Unfortunately, 6-5 for Blue and playing in the Just Happy You're playing in January Bowl sponsored by Zenith. Expect another season of dominating defense, and Rex will actually show the nation why he was a 1st round pick. Break out player will be Mark Bradley and the Booya network will have to have a new segment every week to show off our new full back. Trust me. All in all, Phil Rogers, lay off the fentynal for awhile, Tejada, A-rod and C-Lee will not be in cubbie blew. I wish for once the the tribunistas would turn off the propaganda machines and lay down their arms in surrender. Sell the cubs now....

The sure FIRE cure for the cubs...

...outside of a plane crash, is... duh, didid, duuuuuuh.... A. Fire Dusty, needs no explanation. B. Trading Walker, Maddux, Nevin and Pierre, get some ready for next year AAA players. C. Parlay these players onto teams that have higher priced players with a year or two left on their deals: Tejada, Hunter, Figgins, Abreau and the likes. Whoever rocks the boat. D. Hire Bob Brenly from the booth, you can tell he WANTS this job, is familiar with the organization and seems to actually care for the plight of real cubs fans. I was in the Pinella camp up until a few days ago, then I heard a local interview during the ASB, and changed my mind. So, I guess this is my push to put BB in the captain's chair so to speak. Match up Zee with another horse, Dempster gets in middle relief and try Marmol as the stopper. Thanks to Whitlock for sharing some of his ideas, but I'll keep Barrett for the forseeable future.

Rearranging the deck furniture on the Titanic....

That is what true cubs fans are doing by supporting this team. I've thought long and hard about their situation and came up with one conclusion and a few options: The conclusion is, this is not a 23 games below .500 team. The cause therefore would be the manager. Option A. Get rid of Baker at ASB, hire a new skipper, whether that would be Brenly, Rothschild as interim or the best solution get Sweet Lou Pinella in town. Brenly or Rotschild you could do one of two things: leave the team be or back up the truck and sell. Get as many prospects as you can steal and see a new team in about four years. Pinella comes in, get all his input, get rid of the lolly gaggers and trade for the quality big money guys that are playing on cash strapped teams. Option B. is the one that will be the more likely Tribune "way" of thinking: Leave DB in, trade some of the "better" players like, Walker, Maddog, Ramirez, and Pierre to playoff hopeful clubs and attempt to pillage their AAA talent, guys that are a year away. As long as Lee, Zambrano and Barrett are around "we'll still get 3 million saps to come out". Option C. Fuck it, who cares..... Hey Jimmy boy, you wanna keep me and the vast majority of real baseball fans who happen to support the cubs pick option A and and give Pinella EVERYTHING he wants. I expect a press conference on the 12th.
