Can I get a witness....

.....Blue went to South Bend and faced Touchdown Jesus, the 80,000 faithful and NBC network. Oh, yeah and Weis' wonder boys too. Given no shot by the suits in Vegas and the national media the University of Michigan's Wolverines, came, saw and handed the golden domers their lunch. What an all around performance. People who know me, know I'm a rabid M fan and have been calling for Lloyd Carr's resignation the past couple of years. Maybe I was unfair, considering Mike Hart was lost after the second game last season. I hope I'm not getting to high after this victory but one could only dream.

Second point: This weekend could really be a great one if Rex and company open up a can of Mississippi ass whoop all over the Lions today. Looking for some magic at the crash landed space craft on the shores of Lake Michigan this afternoon.

Favre and away...

Oh how the mighty have fallen. 1st time since the hilljack from Kiln Ms, has ever put up goose eggs since he had taken over the helm of the Packers. Was the Bears defense that outstanding? Not from where I sat. The only play that GB historically would kill the Bears with was the screen. Rivera and company focused on the short stuff early in the series to keep the Pack into 3 and longs and going to their cover 2. Ahman Green ran a lot better then Jones and Benson. McKie looked solid. Desmond Clark, where have you've been? Moose had over a hundred yards and caught everything thrown to him. Is the Pack that bad? My observations, no. Before I get accused of drinking the navy blue koolade, I see it this way: new defensive system, two rookie guards, and a new offense. Not a real good combo. I see the game here in January to be a lot closer. Hopefully, it will not have any playoff implications. Hester impressed the heck out've me. Now teams will have to plan for him too. This team may be a little better then I originally thought. Like I said before, Rex is the man, till he gets carted off the field. Detroit should a little better barometer of where this team really is.

The soap opera that is the cubs.

The writers for All my Children couldn't have written a better sweeps plot line then what "adversity" Dusty and company has faced this year. Losing your entire pitching staff, exploding scrotums, an arrest, racist mailings, the list could go on but I'm saving bandwidth. Make this an unprofitable venture for the Trib, do not buy any tickets for 2007. Send a message, which I intend to do. I may even look into becoming a partial ST holder for a certain team, 50 minutes north of here. Oh how the mighty have fallen. I'm just disgusted.... Brighter news, I took my birthday off and will be sitting in the lazy boy watching my beloved monsters of the midway tear Brett Favre and the Packers a new one this Sunday. The biggest weapon added to the Bears is one Devin Hester. Man can this kid move. He'll be a weekly hi-light reel on the east coast propaganda network. Stay safe, enjoy these beautiful fall days.
