Can I get a witness....

.....Blue went to South Bend and faced Touchdown Jesus, the 80,000 faithful and NBC network. Oh, yeah and Weis' wonder boys too. Given no shot by the suits in Vegas and the national media the University of Michigan's Wolverines, came, saw and handed the golden domers their lunch. What an all around performance. People who know me, know I'm a rabid M fan and have been calling for Lloyd Carr's resignation the past couple of years. Maybe I was unfair, considering Mike Hart was lost after the second game last season. I hope I'm not getting to high after this victory but one could only dream.

Second point: This weekend could really be a great one if Rex and company open up a can of Mississippi ass whoop all over the Lions today. Looking for some magic at the crash landed space craft on the shores of Lake Michigan this afternoon.

Can't say I share your enthusiasm about college football. My son drives me insane w/ it. ALL day Saturday his ass is planted in front of the tv. Sunday's are a different story though - well, as long as the Eagles are playing (and btw, they're up 7-0 right now).

Do you like hockey as much as you do football?

    Mr. Dilligaf,

What's up w/ the time on your blog? My first response said 10:31 AM. Is the time dif between Philly & Chicago only an hour?

Me thinks you need to adjust the time. ;)

I lost interest in the Blackhawks the year before the lock out. I was a rabid fan in H.S. and college, even after Mario and Jaromir crushed the Hawks in 4 straight. The lock out was the icing on the cake (no pun). Had my heart torn out. The last game I watched was when I got HD and HDNET broadcast the Oilers v. the Habs in Edmonton outside, like 30 below. What a treat for a guy that played on "ponds" and rat time.

    dilligaf,

It's a shame you lost interest. I wasn't too thrilled w/the lockout, but I love the game - I love it more than football.

I guess growing up w/ three brothers, I had no choice but to like sports!

My idol when I was a kid (this will probably show my age here)...
Bernie Parent! My fave memories - 73-74 when the Flyers beat the Bruins to win the Stanley Cup. That was sweet! There just aren't players around like Dupont, Barber, Clarkie, Schultz, Watson, MacLeish, Parent, Kelly and so on anymore...

The game IS so different than it was back then, but I'll always be a huge hockey fan, and I'll always bleed Orange & Black.

Ok, I'm rambling. I'll shut up now.

You are aging the both of us (you more then I) but those guys could lay and beating on anyone, and score too. When hockey was a game and not so much a sport. BTW, this week is a push....

I was probably 9 or 10 when those guys were in their prime. I loved them.

I remember one night my mom and her friends had gone out for dinner & I would assume drinks, and I remember eavesdropping & listening to a story she was telling one of her friends:

Wayne Stevenson was hitting on my mom big time. Of course, he was married (tsk, tsk, tsk) and all the other Flyers that were there were hitting on the women w/ my mom's friends. Of course, they were all married too.

At the time, I was totally grossed out. That was my mom! Today I find it hysterical, especially because kind of the same thing happened to me one night.

I was at a pub in Jersey and Peter Zezel was hitting on me big time. I don't know he was married, but I never had an opportunity to even find out.

My oldest brother happened to be there that night (which sucked!) - he put a damper on me trying to meet anyone.

    Anyway...

Typical woman, I yap WAY too much.
